World Mental Health Day 2025
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, celebrated every year on October 10th, Politecnico di Milano presents a series of events aimed at the entire university community: moments of discussion, training, and in-depth exploration dedicated to psychological well-being, understanding distress, and fostering a culture of care. The program consists of sessions designed for the various members of the Politecnico community – teaching staff, technical-administrative staff, students, and PhD candidates – and concludes with an event open to the general public. All sessions will be held in Italian. Discover them below.

World Mental Health Day 2025 events
12.15pm-1.45pm, online, in Italian
Training event reserved for Teaching Staff.
Prof. Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet will engage with teaching staff on new psychological and social challenges, aiming to raise awareness about youth distress, focusing on tools, limits, and possibilities to address these issues.

Training event reserved for Technical and Administrative Staff.
Alice Fattori, Coordinator of the Workplace Distress Listening Desk, offers insights to increase awareness of psychological distress in the workplace.

Theatrical performance by the Asilo Republic company
A student lies about his academic career and plans a fake graduation. A reflection on the role of virtual reality, the strong sense of inadequacy, and the fear of failure generated by the self-exposure promoted by social media among young people.
Identity and Wellbeing
Starting from May 2025, the "Identity and Wellbeing" platform will offer a series of webinars focused on various topics related to psychophysical wellbeing.
The proposed webinars will include:
- Facing change: an interactive webinar aimed at exploring change with greater awareness.
September 23rd (in Italian) and September 30th (in English).- inDependence: an exploration of the phenomenology of addictions and possible intervention approaches.
October 2nd (in Italian).The webinars, open to the entire student community of the University, will be delivered via the Microsoft Teams platform. All sessions will be led by experienced professionals in the field of psychophysical wellbeing, who are deeply familiar with the Polytechnic Community and its values.

PoliPsi is the free counselling and psychological and psychotherapeutic support service for students and PhD candidates at the Politecnico di Milano. It has a team of experts (psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists) in relational dynamics and learning processes. The service offers a place to confront and receive competent support in moments of discomfort, inherent to the personal and academic sphere. Maximum confidentiality and respect for privacy of any data and materials exchanged or collected are guaranteed.
In particular, with the help offered by the service you can:
- deal with difficult situations encountered upon entering academic life (both of an academic or psychological nature);
- improve your academic performance (targeting and refining your chosen academic path, the motivations and the reasons behind it and the most effective personal and cooperative strategies for achieving your desired results);
- get to know and better understand yourself, others, your most meaningful relationships and the situations that you put yourself in in anticipation of a rich, prestigious and original personal, professional and relational future;
- better cope with your first work placement experiences, in furtherance of internships, apprenticeships and research activities.
Depending on the specific problem, the service offers varying levels of psychological and psychotherapeutic support and counselling.
For difficulties in the academic sphere (study method, organisation, motivation, anxiety, delayed studies, doubts about choice) the service offers:
- a seminar on study and learning methodologies;
- 1 to 5 individual sessions in Educational Psychological Counselling with a psychologist with expertise in guidance and teaching methodologies.
For difficulties, also of a personal nature, the service offers:
- a cycle of 8 individual sessions - with psychotherapist and if necessary a follow up with a coordinator* psychotherapist - sessions are weekly and offered in parallel with or at the end of the experiential course
- Starting from Wednesday, July 9th, the Polipsi service will also be active at Bovisa La Masa, Building B30, Room 1.2 (located on the first floor). The methods for accessing the service and the courses remain unchanged, you will need to register on the Polipsi platform as always.
- A Space with You – Psychological Counseling Service: from September 1st to October 10th, a psychological counseling service will be available. This is a free and confidential service dedicated to students and PhD candidates living in the residences.
