Descrizione dell'iniziativa
We are proposing a residential workshop bringing together students from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and The Design Village (India). The workshop will be held in the newly born campus in Villa-Castello di Torrazzetta (Pavia, approx. 80km from Milano). www.instagram.com/reels/DXWcPNEj1ik/
The purpose of this workshop is to learn to map our surroundings from three perspectives.
1 - Human (Seen)
2 - Non-human (Unseen)
3 - Shared ecology (Interwoven)
The ecosystem around us is in constant motion—sometimes shifting rapidly, sometimes so subtly we barely notice. As individuals, we too are always evolving, adapting to these changes as we move through life. Along the way, we experience the world through our senses, forming relationships with everything we encounter.
We are not separate from this living system; we are deeply embedded within it. Just as we influence our surroundings, they in return shape us. This mutual exchange extends across living beings, non-living elements, and the phenomena that unfold around us. Over time, we learn to exist together in a shared space of interdependence.
In this workshop, we will explore these connections—how things relate, influence one another, and ultimately learn to coexist.
This is a Villaging experience – Villaging is an integral part of a villager’s life. Villaging refers to all activities undertaken for self-development and learning, as well as participating in evolving and maintaining the village itself. It includes activities for introspection, team building and community work for the village. Villaging helps to engrain the DNA of The Design Village school in the villager; the qualities of awareness, compassion, courage and perseverance.
