Joint Labs
Today’s Talent, Tomorrow’s Tires
Since 2011, the collaboration between Pirelli and the Politecnico di Milano has taken shape in the Joint Labs program, a joint laboratory that leverages complementary expertise and accelerates technological development in the tyre sector.
The agreement is based on a shared vision: to create the tires of the future—innovative, high-performance, and connected—through an open, multidisciplinary research ecosystem focused on excellence. With this approach, Pirelli promotes the continuous transformation of the product, driving rapid progress in the development of new technologies and increasingly sustainable solutions.
The research activities are distinguished by the direct involvement of young talents, doctoral students, and researchers, and by the structured integration of Pirelli’s know-how with the scientific expertise of the Politecnico di Milano. Over time, to address growing technological challenges, the collaboration has evolved significantly, continuously expanding both the scope of research and the number of groups involved.
Pirelli is an Italian excellence that finds in Politecnico di Milano an attentive partner in research, innovation, education and talent development. The JRP strengthens a shared vision, ready to tackle new challenges.
Donatella Sciuto, Rector of Politecnico di Milano
