Enigma offers anti-counterfeiting and traceability systems based on patented nano-engineered inks that are invisible and can be integrated into paper, plastic and metal without altering their appearance. By combining proprietary software and dedicated hardware, it ensures authentication and traceability down to the individual item, with differentiated access for each operator. The solutions protect identity documents, revenue stamps, pharmaceutical packaging, electronic components and high-value goods. In addition, an edible label for agri-food traceability has been developed, which can be verified via an app.

Founded in 2023, Enigma develops and engineers an innovative class of nanomaterials resulting from over ten years of academic research, transforming them into customised security solutions for different markets. Its activities integrate research, patenting, hardware and software development, and implementation at customer sites. It has also developed an innovative edible and compostable labelling technology made from agri-food waste for traceability in the food sector. Enigma holds the patent application for this technology and leads its commercialisation and scale-up.
