Degree courses taught in English
To access degree programs taught in English, you must demonstrate knowledge of the English language before enrolling.
You can fulfil the language requirement if you have:
- citizenship of a country where English is the official language;
- an educational qualification, at least upper secondary level, obtained in English;
- an appropriate English language certification as specified below

*Politecnico di Milano does not accept certifications considered expired by the issuing institution.
Students who have taken the test at an institute that sends the result to the Politecnico di Milano electronically do not need to submit an original copy of the certificate.
Knowledge of Italian for International students
An Italian language proficiency test is mandatory for international students admitted to all English-language Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programmes:
- to the Laurea (equivalent to three-year Bachelor of Science) in Architectural Design – EN
- to the Laurea (equivalent to three-year Bachelor of Science) in Civil Engineering – EN
- to the Laurea (equivalent to three-year Bachelor of Science) in Interaction Design - EN
International students will be enrolled with Italian OFA additional educational obligations and must certify that they know the language before sitting the graduation exam and completing their studies.
