L'idea

The new face of Bovisa

The Politecnico di Milano first set its sights on the Bovisa district back in the late 1980s and in particular the area between Via La Masa and Via Lambruschini, for the site of a campus dedicated to industrial engineering, with large laboratories including the Wind Tunnel. The La Masa campus has always been characterised by a mixture of industrial-style buildings, a lack of green spaces and trees, and an absence of equipped places for students to study and get together. For this reason, the green area was increased, new trees were planted and new benches were installed outdoors.

Symbolising the renewed vocation for sociality is the splendid “Collina degli studenti” (Students’ Hill), a green hill covered with trees and on which is perched a building that houses a new study area, a refreshment area and a recreational area for professors.
