How we do research at Politecnico

Brussels Liaison Office

The Politecnico di Milano has a Liaison Office in Brussels, dedicated to consolidating the university's presence in European research and innovation. The office fosters contact with EU institutions, scientific networks and international stakeholders, enhancing the reputation of the Politecnico in European research and innovation programmes.

Strategic Goals

  • Consolidate the Politecnico di Milano’s role in the international academic and scientific community
  • Strengthen the University's visibility in Europe through constant dialogue with EU institutions
  • Influence European research and innovation policies and strategic agendas
  • Promote participation in EU programmes and bids for European funding
  • Develop partnerships with international academic, institutional and industrial stakeholders

What does the Liaison Office do?

The office helps define European research and innovation priorities through dialogue with the EU institutions. The office organises meetings with the representatives of various institutions, drafts strategic agendas and position papers, and participates in European consultations.

The office furthers the University's involvement in Brussels-based research networks, guides it through joining European partnerships, and facilitates the creation of new project partnerships.

The Liaison Office participates in events, workshops and round tables promoted by EU institutions, European agencies and international networks. In this way, it contributes to the development of policies, programmes and new calls for funding.

The office monitors activities and work programmes in Europe. It organises meetings and conferences to update the academic community on European strategic initiatives.

The Liaison Office promotes international mobility by organising internships and training schemes in Brussels.
