Circular economy projects

What is meant by circular economy? According to the European Parliament’s definition “The circular economy is a model of production and consumption that involves sharing, lending, reusing, repairing, reconditioning and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible.” Thus contrasting with the principles of the linear economic model. This extends the life cycle of products, helping to reduce waste.

In this section you can find a selection of examples of circular economy initiatives and projects carried out by the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with external providers. Projects that can be successful only thanks to the committed engagement of members of the Polimi community, especially the students. Among the examples of circular economy initiatives and projects, implemented by the Politecnico, we can mention the projects for the collection of discharged batteries, bicycle wheel tires, initiatives to reduce paper consumption, etc.
